Arsenal transfer news: Real Sociedad keen to keep Carlos Vela

La Liga outfit Real Sociedad claim they want Arsenal striker Carlos Vela to remain with them next season.

The Mexican scored 12 goals for the Basque side during a season-long loan deal to help them to 12th in the table.

Vela has said he wants to leave the Gunners for good, while Sociedad have said in the past they would like to wrap up a permanent deal.

And coach Philippe Montanier has himself said he would like Vela to stay.

"We want to keep Vela," Montanier told Infosport.

"Eighty per cent of our players are Basque. We want to continue to work with our training centre and also make one or two adjustments to the team."
