Brentford striker Clayton Donaldson would have taken a 2-2 draw with Chelsea before the game but was left wanting more after the way the match went.

The Bees led twice through Marcello Trotta and Harry Forrester’s penalty but Oscar’s sublime control and finish and Fernando Torres’ equaliser seven minutes from time forced a replay.

“I think we can say that we are disappointed considering the way the game went,” Donaldson told London24.

“We were leading twice and they scored the equaliser. I can say we were disappointed.

“Before the game, if you said to be it’d be 2-2, I’d have taken that.

“The atmosphere was electric and to have that support. It’ll be a good day out for all the fans like the players.”

The Bees were the more hard-working side, with Donaldson being deployed on the wing to counter the threat of Ashley Cole and the former Crewe man did his job superbly, frustrating the England international.

“They couldn’t get to grips with the game,” he said.

“Most of their possession was in their own half. We sat deep and we made it difficult.”

The west Londoners have reached this stage the hard way, requiring replays against Bradford and Southend and Donaldson believes it proves that Brentford are difficult to beat.

“It’s been a rocky cup run, bar Boreham Wood, all of them have been replays,” he explained.

“It shows that we’re not easy to beat. We’re always up for the fight.”
