Clayton Donaldson believes that Saido Berahino can go far if he applies himself

Brentford striker Clayton Donaldson has hailed West Brom loanee Saido Berahino and has offered some advice to the young striker.

The 18-year-old has scored four goals in his first six games for the Griffin Park outfit and he has won two man-of-the-match awards against Carlisle and Exeter.

And the former Crewe striker has advised Berahino to keep working and who knows where he might end up.

“He’s a talented player,” Donaldson told London24.

“He’s got four goals and two of them were good strikes in the past few games.

“As long as he keeps working hard he should go far and who knows where that will take him.”

Donaldson and Berahino are likely to start for Brentford against Leyton Orient on Saturday unless the Bees bring in a replacement for Gary Alexander, who moved to Crawley last week.
