Saido Berahino praised Gary Alexander

West Brom loanee Saido Berahino hailed fellow striker Gary Alexander after the victory over Carlisle.

Berahino scored two goals, including his first for the Bees, but was quick to praise his experienced team-mate, who he replaced because of an injury.

“Gaz (Alexander) is very important to Brentford,” the Baggies youngster told London24. “He’s a good professional. He talks to you all the time and guides you.

“He’s got all the experience and he’s just passing it on to the other players.

“I’ve learnt a lot from him and he’s made me feel really welcome.

Berahino also spoke of his delight after scoring his first goals for the club and winning the man-of-the-match award from Sky Sports.

“I enjoyed the goals very much. Scoring and winning is a very big thing. I’m just happy to be fair,” he added.

“This man-of-the-match award (a bottle of champagne) one will be a special one. It’ll be on the mantelpiece. I’ll never open this.”
