Crystal Palace transfer news: Steve Parish has denied that the Magpies have spoken to the club over Nathaniel Clyne

Crystal Palace co-chairman Steve Parish has denied claims that Newcastle have been in contact regarding the availability of wantaway full back Nathaniel Clyne.

Reports suggested that the Magpies had made the first move for the England Under-21 international, with Manchester United, Everton and Ajax also said to be interested.

“I read them and they are not true,” Parish told the South London Press. “It’s completely made up - I hate using those words but they have just got bad information.

“I had a chat to people there a while ago and they do quite like him - but that doesn’t mean they are going to buy him.”
