Jonathan Bond, on loan from Watford, was pleased with his new team’s performance on Saturday
Goalkeeper Jonathan Bond marked his Dagenham & Redbridge debut with a clean sheet in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Plymouth – and felt his new club were good value for their point at Home Park.
Daggers were on the back foot for much of the match, but Plymouth struggled to convert their possession into clear cut chances – although hit the post twice in the second half through Luke Daley and Robbie Williams.
John Still’s men created little in response, but held out for a rare away point.
Bond said: “It was a difficult game. Plymouth played well and put us under a lot of pressure.
“They had the momentum with the home crowd behind them, but we held firm at the back and it was a well earned point.
“I thought I played alright. I was a bit shaky in the first half, it was my first experience of League Two football, so there were a few nerves.
“But I got a good punch in and a few good kicks, so I grew in confidence and it was alright in the end.”
