Jol eyes two more signings to shoot Fulham back into Premier League top 10

Transfer news: Martin Jol will turn his attention to signing the “one or two” new players that will help Fulham finish in the Premier League top 10 again this coming season.

Last term the Whites finished 12th after selling top stars Mousa Dembele and Clint Dempsey to London rivals Tottenham but their preparations for the new campaign continued with a third and final win on their Costa Rica tour last night.

Their match against Deportivo Saprissa saw new billionaire owner Shahid Khan watch from the stands as the game ended 2-2, but the Premier League side came out on top in a penalty shoot-out, winning 5-3.

The Dutchman told Fulham’s website: “We are still looking for one or two players to make it 100 percent. You saw 22, 23 players and they did their best.

“We would like to be in the top 10. We were a bit unlucky last year because we missed a lot of players - Mousa Dembele went, then of course top scorer Clint Dempsey went and Danny Murphy, then Mahamadou Diarra was injured.

“Steve Sidwell was suspended for seven games, so it was too much probably on the shoulders of Bryan and I feel this year will be our year again as we have good quality and I feel that we are very positive.”
