QPR manager Harry Redknapp is still hopeful that Ryan Nelsen will be able to play for the R’s against Manchester City and Norwich.

The Kiwi is set to leave the club to manage Toronto FC in the MLS but the west Londoners and the Canadian side are at odds over a departure date.

“I’m hoping he will be available for us for next week so we’ll see about what happens,” Redknapp explained.

Bobby Zamora was on the bench for the 4-2 defeat to MK Dons although Redknapp was unwilling to risk him and he admitted that a return to full fitness for the striker is some way off.

“Bobby is miles away from fitness still,” he added. “You can’t rely on him yet.

“He’s capable of 15-20 minutes maximum so the doctors told me.

“Players will come back on Tuesday and Saturday in the Premier League and that will be the priority.”
