Liverpool legend Dietmar Hamann would love to see the Reds sign Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

The Togo international has been a substitute in recent weeks under Andre Villas-Boas as Jermain Defoe has been in sensational form.

And Hamann hopes to see the Merseyside club make a move for him, while admitting that he wouldn’t mind Theo Walcott at Anfield.

“If I could take one player and there might be a chance to it would be Adebayor,” he said.

“On his day he is monstrous and he would get the love at Liverpool he needs.

“I would love to see him in a red shirt.”
