Brazilian midfielder Paulinho has vowed to stay at Tottenham after a mixed first season at White Hart Lane – and insists he has no regrets about moving to London.
Paulinho became one of seven new signings at Spurs last summer when he arrived in a £17million deal from Corinthians in July.
The 25-year-old made a bright start under Andre Villas-Boas, scoring three goals in his first eight games, but he found himself out of the side for much of the second half of the season under Tim Sherwood.
Spurs’ London rivals Chelsea have been linked with a summer swoop for the player, but Paulinho insists he’s happy with life in north London.
“I don’t have any problem. If you take a look, I was on the field in more than half of the games if you consider the Europa League and the cups,” he said in the June edition of FourFourTwo.
“There’s no big issue with this, but a footballer always wants to be playing, never resting. We Brazilians are like this.”
Asked if he regrets moving to Spurs, he said: “Absolutely not. I know how to handle my career and it’ll take more than just one bad moment before I reconsider my options.
“We have all got responsibilities at Tottenham and we are ready to go through this.”
