The London24 Sports team pick our star 11 based on the performances from around the capital’s 14 Premier League and Football League clubs.
Arsenal put Tottenham to the sword at the Emirates, winning by five goals to two, while Chelsea were beaten by West Brom.
Fulham were comfortably beaten by Sunderland on Sunday, while QPR were thumped at home to Southampton.
In the Championship, Crystal Palace extended their unbeaten run to 14 games after thumping Derby, while Millwall made it 10 outings without defeat with a win over Leeds.
Brentford produced a spirited defensive performance and grabbed a late equaliser against Preston, while Leyton Orient thumped Carlisle.
In League Two, Barnet drew with Accrington, AFC Wimbledon scrambled a draw against Aldershot and Dagenham were beaten by Burton Albion.
After heated debate, reasoning, pleading and a little bit of begging, here’s our team of the week. See whether you agree with our choices. If you have a different view then get involved and leave a comment at the bottom of this article.
GOALKEEPER – Chris Lewington; Dagenham & Redbridge
The Daggers stopper produced a fine double save in the first half from Calvin Zola and Billy Kee and kept Burton at bay in the opening period. It wasn’t enough as two quick goals from the Brewers handed them victory.
DEFENDER – Shaleum Logan; Brentford
The full back was in top form against Preston, with his rampaging runs down the flank causing panic in the Lilywhites side. An excellent showing from the former Manchester City trainee.
DEFENDER – Harlee Dean; Brentford
The former Southampton man was on song against Preston after an indifferent few weeks. The centre back produced the cross for Antonio German to score his late equaliser.
DEFENDER – Steven Caulker; Tottenham
Ignoring Spurs’ 5-2 defeat, the 20-year-old made an impressive debut for England on Wednesday. He kept an on-song Zlatan Ibrahimovic as quiet as possible and the Three Lions missed his presence in the dying minutes, conceding three times.
DEFNDER – Shane Lowry; Millwall
Had a difficult job of trying to keep El Hadji Diouf quiet against Leeds. Pinpoint cross allowed Chris Wood to fire home his side’s winner in the dying moments.
MIDFIELDER – Ricky Holmes; Barnet
For a man coming back from injury this was a very impressive performance. Holmes won his side’s penalty against Accrington and was a constant danger for the Bees.
MIDFIELDER – Santi Cazorla; Arsenal
Jack Wilshere compared him to Lionel Messi. The best performer from the London clubs during the week as he put Tottenham to the sword.
MIDFIELDER – Theo Walcott; Arsenal
Theo Walcott thrives on playing against Tottenham. Last season, he was sublime against Spurs – this time he was just as good, both as a provider and goalscorer.
MIDFIELDER – Mile Jedinak; Crystal Palace
The Palace captain dominated the midfield and ensured Derby were never able to gain a foothold in the game, while Glenn Murray took the plaudits for the goals.
FORWARD – David Mooney; Leyton Orient
The O’s frontman returned to form with three goals in two games. He grabbed his first against Gloucester before bagging a brace in the stunning 4-1 win over Carlisle.
FORWARD – Olivier Giroud; Arsenal
The Frenchman was on the scoresheet once again for the Gunners – scoring the crucial third goal against Tottenham. Giroud has been in fine form in recent weeks.
