The midfielder believes that AFC Wimbledon can triumph over the Hertfordshire side

AFC Wimbledon star Sammy Moore is expecting a huge challenge when the Dons face Stevenage in the Capital One Cup first round.

The south-west Londoners had a difficult pre-season campaign – beating Bognor Regis and Maidenhead but losing to Reading, Portsmouth, Preston and a West Ham XI.

“It’s been a tough pre-season,” Moore told London24. “Not that I didn’t expect that.

“We’ve got better as we’ve gone along, especially Wednesday night against Portsmouth.

“We’re all gearing with the League Cup game with Stevenage first.”

“That’s going to be a tough game, especially down at their place.

“They’ve lost most of their players to Preston.

“They’ll be a different side and hopefully we can go there and get a win.”
