Transfer News: Billy Knott is open to another loan spell at AFC Wimbledon

Sunderland youngster Billy Knott is open to making a return to AFC Wimbledon next season.

Manager Terry Brown described the midfielder’s loan spell as pivotal in the Dons staying up and the 19-year-old won the Young Player of the Year award.

“To be picked as the Young Player of the Year is a great honour for me,” he told the clubs official website.

“But it is all down to the players and staff here who have helped me every day in training.

“They have helped through a few personal things and to settle in well. I have also been allowed the freedom to play my football.

“I would consider coming back as it is a great club with great fans.

“I will be looking to go out on loan again as I do not want to go back to playing reserve team football.

“But I will have to speak to the gaffer and the staff at Sunderland first when I go back there.”
