League Two: Hartlepool 3 Wimbledon 1

Two goals in the last 20 minutes did for AFC Wimbledon as they face the long trip south from Hartlepool empty handed.

The hosts took the lead from the penalty spot after Alan Bennett fouled Luke James and Simon Walton converted from 12 yards.

The Dons levelled through the same route on 66 minutes when Andy Monkhouse infringed on George Porter. Harry Pell found the bottom corner but the visitors weren’t on terms for long.

Against James and Walton were involved for the Monkey Hangers with the former heading home on 72 minutes.

And a third was added 11 minutes later when Matthew Dolan fired in from outside the penalty area.

It stretches Wimbledon’s winless run to five games and they next face high-flying Oxford United at home on Saturday.
