Brentford defender Shaleum Logan reached his goal target as the Bees hammered Preston North End, heaping more pressure on manager Graham Westley.

The former Manchester City man headed home Harry Forrester’s cross after only nine minutes to give the west Londoners the lead with his third goal of the season.

“I’m a right back but I set myself a target of three goals this season,” he told London24 after scoring his second goal of the season against Bournemouth in October. “I’m on two already but I love to score.

“It’s the best feeling ever scoring a goal. I’m not really used to it but I try and get myself in positions to do that.”

Brentford doubled their lead through Clayton Donaldson’s penalty on 25 minutes.

The Bees striker ended his goal drought against Rochdale on Saturday and picked himself up after being fouled by Daniel Devine midway through the first half.

The Lancashire club pulled a goal back from the spot when Graham Cummins was fouled by Harlee Dean. Paul Parry fired home the spot kick.

But Donaldson rounded things off after 53 minutes, when he headed home Adam Thompson’s cross to complete the scoring and give Brentford their first away win since November.
