Transfer news: Louis Harris has signed for the Dons

AFC Wimbledon midfielder Louis Harris is excited by the ‘big opportunity’ he has after joining the club from Wolves.

The 19-year-old is the Dons second summer signing, after the capture of former Luton Town full back Curtis Osano two weeks ago and the holding midfielder can’t wait to make an impression.

“When I met with Terry he told me that he wants to go up again with a young squad that plays good football,” Harris said.

“I am a ball-playing midfielder so hopefully this is the right place for me and I will fit in well here.

“I know that Wimbledon have had a few promotions in recent years and I am looking forward to working with everyone here.

“Hopefully, we can do better than last season and aim for the play-offs.

“I have been told that I will get a chance to play so I want to make a good impression and I cannot wait to hit the ground running in pre-season.”

Harris spent a frustrating loan spell at Notts County last season, only making two appearances for the Magpies.

“I was at Notts County for six weeks and played two games, but then they were going for the play-offs and I was left out,” he added.

“That was a difficult time for me and I was not playing much football.

“So AFC Wimbledon is a really big opportunity for me now and I intend to take it.

“It was the end of the road for me at Wolves, but I have to move on in my career and this is a new start for me.”
