Simon Cox gave his thoughts on how reliant Fulham are on the American who is averaging a goal every other game for the Whites

West Brom forward Simon Cox believes that Fulham will not be overly reliant on Clint Dempsey after selling Bobby Zamora to QPR.

The American has scored 16 goals in 32 games in all competitions – over 25 per cent of all goals Fulham have scored this season and has been deemed the key threat by opposition teams.

However Cox believes that Dempsey is not the only Fulham player who can cause sides problems.

“(They will rely on) him, as well as Andy Johnson as well as the new lad (Pavel Pogrebnyak) who has come in,” Cox said.

“So I don’t think they will be reliant on one or two players.

There are good players in that side and I think they’ll be fine.”

Fulham play Stoke City on Saturday at Craven Cottage – the Potters won 2-0 the Brittania Stadium with goals from Jonathan Walters and Rory Delap in the last 10 minutes.
