Big Buck’s preparations for the new jumps season continue at Exeter racecourse on Wednesday when he is scheduled to gallop before racing.
The four-time winner of the Ladbrokes World Hurdle is down to work on the Devon track 30 minutes ahead of the first race on the six race card, which is set to go off at 1.40pm.
Trainer Paul Nicholls said: “We did this at the same time last year, when he galloped with Kauto Star and Mon Parrain, before he won the Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury, and it worked very well. He’ll have a day out and a spin around the racecourse.”
Big Buck’s was last seen when easing to a nine length victory in the Grade 1 BGC Partners Liverpool Hurdle at Aintree in April, the success capping a remarkable season that saw him extend his unbeaten sequence over hurdles to a record 17 races.
The nine-year-old is likely to have is first start of the season at either Haydock or Newbury later this month.
