Horse Talk: Top horse-racing tips and the latest news
Kempton Park racecourse is celebrating summer with another Irish Night which this year features the music of Rollercoaster who will perform after racing concludes on Wednesday night.
On Irish night last year London’s closest racecourse featured Hothouse Flowers who performed in front of the grandstand to the delight of the large crowd that included this correspondent.
Rollercoaster offers a blend of pop/rock and Irish tunes and will take to the stage at the end of the seven race card that commences at 6.20pm, with the last raced scheduled for 9.20pm.
Rollercoaster comprises Alistair Cowan and Chris Hughes, who will be joined on stage by guitarist Rob Blackham and guest fiddlers. The crowd pleasing show will jig through some of the most popular tunes of the past few decades with a selection of rock and pop songs that everyone can sing along to.
Kimberley Green, marketing manager at Kempton said: “Kempton Park is a great place to enjoy a summer’s evening with friends and family. Irish Night on July 11th offers a great opportunity to enjoy some traditional Irish entertainment at a convenient location that has a bit of something for everyone. The music evenings are great fun and terrific value for money”.
Kempton have three other similar evenings scheduled this year that includes Olly Murs on August 17.
