Arsenal's match at the Emirates Stadium has been moved back 24 hours due to the Boxing Day Tube strike

The planned Tube strike on Boxing Day could wreak havoc on the Christmas football fixtures.

London clubs Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham, Millwall, Leyton Orient, Brentford, AFC Wimbledon, Dagenhan & Redbridge and Barnet could all be affected by the walkout by Aslef union members in a dispute with London Underground over Boxing Day pay.

Arsenal have admitted they could move their Boxing Day clash with Wolves to December 27 in order to prevent travel problems.

Chelsea are also monitoring the situation ahead of their game with Fulham.

“We would like to make all supporters aware of the situation surrounding our proposed home match against Wolves on Monday, December 26,” an Arsenal club statement read.

“The club is fully aware of the proposed industrial action on London Underground.

“We are closely monitoring the situation, together with all the relevant agencies, including the Metropolitan Police, Transport for London, London Underground, the FA Premier League, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and Islington Council.

“The paramount concern to Arsenal Football Club is the duty of care we have towards the Arsenal supporters, Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters, matchday employees and indeed everyone who is planning to attend this match.”

The decision to strike is being taken to the High Court by London Mayor Boris Johnson and there is hope agreement can be agreed before the strike.
