It’s going to be a long pre-season for the Orient players as manager Russell Slade looks for an improvement from his side.

The O’s, who finised just one place above the League One drop zone, are due to report back on Monday July 2 - that’s almost seven weeks before the season kicks off on Saturday August 18.

“It will be a long pre-season, but we will be looking to break it up,” admitted the O’s boss.

The O’s already have a trio of friendly fixtures arranged against non-league sides- all away from home. The first is against Sutton United on Wednesday July 18 - and that’s followed by matches at Ebbsfleet on Saturday July 21 and Maidstone United on Wednesday August 8.
