Barnet winger Mark Marshall has been banned by an Independent Regulatory Commission from all football activity for two years, following a positive test for a prohibited substance in competition.

The 25-year-old, who was linked with West Ham, Leeds and Portsmouth in January, has been provisionally suspended since January 20.

Marshall tested positive for Methylhexaneamine following Barnet’s League Two fixture with Dagenham & Redbridge on Boxing Day last year.

A provisional suspension was put in place by The Football Association on January 20 and the Independent Regulatory Commission has confirmed this as the date of the commencement of Marshall’s two year suspension.
