On the National front, Devon secured their spot in the final of the Johns Trophy thanks to a victory against Cambridgeshire in the semi-finals.

Madeira members did their best to capture the Trophy in the final as Liz Smerdon skipped a winning Devon rink 21-15, while Jan Roberts played on a rink which drew 20-20. This did not prove to be enough however as Lincolnshire ran out overall winners.
