THERE were four wins for Barnstaple boxers and one for Bideford in the sell-out Barnstaple ABC show at Roundswell on Saturday.

Bout of the night was the guest appearance of Army boxer Shane Sadler, who won his contest against Wesley Smith of Launceston on a majority points verdict.
Harry Sugars of Barnstaple has come on a storm since five defeats last season, chalking up his fourth successive win this term with a majority points verdict over Jake Birch of Birmingham-based Studio ABC.
Tommy Allum also put on a good show for Barnstaple, fighting back strongly after a poor opening round, but just failing to make up the points in a majority decision against him.
Bideford ABC prospect Ricky Dymond showed skill and power to outbox Sam Davis of Blandford ABC.
Both boxers came out the blocks fast, trading blows, but Dymond showed great head movement to avoid a lot that came his way, while putting together some good combinations of his own.
The Bideford boxer stepped up a gear in the second round, leaving his opponent needing a standing count from a crunching left cross and went on to gain a unanimous points verdict.
Young Aiden Vitali was also on the bill for Bideford in his first contest against Leon Mills of Titans. This was a skills contest where no winner was declared, but the 12- year-old made a good introduction to his boxing career, working behind a solid jab and fast footwork.
Results: Joe Freeman (Barnstaple) bt Harrison Sanson (Hamilton Green) majority points; Patrick Morton (Barnstaple) bt M Hart (Downend) maj pts; Liam Laird (Barnstaple) lost to Reece Hackett (Studio) rsb; Jordan Jones (Barnstaple) lost to Jack Marks (Exeter) unanimous pts; Rob Squires (Barnstaple) lost to Noel Gatehouse (Exmouth) unan pts; Kai Avery (Barnstaple) bt Ryan Cozzolino (Barton Hill) maj pts; Harry Sugars (Barnstaple) bt Jake Birck (Studio) maj pts; Tommy Allum (Barnstaple) lost to Cyrus Charles (Studio) maj pts; Ricky Dymond (Bideford) bt Sam Davis (Blandford) unan pts; Shane Sadler (Army) bt Wesley Smith (Launceston) maj pts.
