Middlesex captain Chris Rogers believes that Andrew Strauss is in excellent form going into the South Africa series.
The England skipper has passed 50 in both innings and has looked in good nick after the Test series success against the West Indies.
“That was an exceptional innings really in the circumstances,” Rogers told London24.
“It’s always hard when you watch everyone get out at the other end.
“He looked in fine form and he can be in form to be in the Test series.”
It took one of Andre Adams’ best balls to remove the England captain in the first innings.
“I think Graham Onions knocked him over with two of the better balls he has bowled.”
“It’s looking good for Straussy in many respects.
“If you can look back at the end of the season and say you forced the bowler to get you out then you’ve had a good year.”
