Docklands Dragons Judo Club returned from the Biggin Hill open championships with nine gold medals earlier this month, following an impressive display from the east London youngsters.

Five-year-old Tommy Cooper started the day off with his gold medal, before seven-year-old Shaun Borg followed in his club-mate’s footsteps also winning his weight division.

Among the other gold medal winners were seven-year-olds Sean Izuora and Anton Krivosheev, five-year-old Ika Goginashvili, nine-year-olds Luke Gelovani and Nevin Challappah and Jon Jackson, 21.

As well as gold, the club also recorded bronze and silver results through youngsters Joshua David, Jamie Black, Adam Saadna and 19-year-old Scott Ballard.
