AFTER a spell of inconsistent results Ipswich Speedway have decided to make a team change in order to get their league campaign back on track.

They have reluctantly released team captain Kevin Doolan and are bringing Taylor Poole back in to the team as his replacement (subject to BSPA approval). Taylor broke his arm in the first meeting of the season at Ipswich and has been a constant bystander in the Foxhall pits during his lengthy recovery.

Director of Speedway, Chris Louis, explained “It was such a tough decision to make, releasing your captain and a rider of such likeable character as Kevin is never an easy thing to do but Taylor is fit and very keen to get his season going. He has followed us around the country taking practise sessions at every opportunity and I know he is determined to make up the lost time. Kevin has got himself in a rut that every rider falls in to at some point in his career and I know he will be snapped up immediately and I just hope it will be enough for him to find his confidence and form quickly.

“Taylor’s return to fitness has been a long and frustrating wait but I am confident he is there now, and we have to look forward to pushing on and preparing for two cup semis, and the Premier League play offs.”
