Despite a narrow defeat this was an encouraging start for the season with Trish Chatty and Jacky Jacobs doing particularly well.

The ladies’ roll-up had an Easter theme with the entrance fee, an Easter egg, being donated to the charity “Families in Grief.”

The winning ladies on the Oaks were Diana Jacob, Valerie Dillon and Eileen Banfield (65), runners up Betty Pledger, Ann Spiller and Joan Millard had 55.

A brilliant 90 points saw Marie Penny, Sheila L Richardson and Wendy Foote coming in first on the Acorns, whilst 86 gave Shirley Hinchcliffe, Chris Haveron and Mary Burrough runner-up position.
