Bideford Boxer Kyle England produced a career best performance to win a re-match against Downend ABC’s Kyle Cockram, after losing to him at Bideford in March.

The bout started with the Bideford boxer showing a educated jab and nimble footwork. The pace increased in the second round with both boxers showing a good variety of punches, but with England continually hitting the target with his right hand. Trailing in the last, Cockram had to take the fight to England, which played into his hands, and he was able to land big shots to leave his opponent continually holding.

Hard hitting Cheye Saunders also featured on the bill against the home club’s Toby Hacker.

Saunders hunted his opponent down from the opening bell, landing trademark body shots and forcing standing counts in the second and third rounds to run out a points winner.

Bideford’s Billy Parsons travelled to Dorset to face J Tyler of Blackmore Vale ABC.

Tyler started fast in a toe to toe first round that had the crowd on their feet. Having to make up ground, Parson dug deep in the second round, landing combinations to body and head. He gave his all in the last round, rocking his opponent, but Tyler hung on to win a tight split decision.
