Madeira continues to do well in the Non Badged Triples League, writes Mary Ann Dowrick.

In the match against Ottery St. Mary, Madeira ladies won on both rinks. Skip Veda Bevan with Jean Healey and Dorothy Mott 16-14; Skip Sandy Cox with Debbie Fox and Ann Doidge 17-12.

Against Sidmouth in the NBTL, Madeira repeated their success on both rinks. Skip Veda Bean with Jenny Turner and Jean Healey 21-11; Skip Sandy Cox with Dorothy Mott and Jean Rainton 25-10. Well done ladies.

The section semi final and final of the County ladies unbadged singles will be played on August 6, at Seaton. Madeira bowlers Mary Ann Dowrick and Brenda Marks will meet in the semi final.

Club Finals weekend is August 25 and 26. Those reaching finals so far include Brenda Marks and Jill Perrin in the Blackmore Cup; Mary Ann Dowrick and Janine Orchard in the 2 Wood Final; Janine Orchard and Jill Perrin in the 3 wood final.

Other competitions have reached the later stages and more results to follow.

On the National front, Devon secured their spot in the final of the Johns Trophy thanks to a victory against Cambridgeshire in the semi-finals.

Madeira members did their best to capture the Trophy in the final as Liz Smerdon skipped a winning Devon rink 21-15, while Jan Roberts played on a rink which drew 20-20. This did not prove to be enough however as Lincolnshire ran out overall winners.
