Over the past few weekends Marriotts boy gymnasts have been competing all over at National & Local Competitions.

A group of boys travelled to Leicester to compete in the National Set-Work Challenge. At Level 1, Ollie O?Brien came 11th, Joe Parton 7th, David Brouat 5th, Harvey Barlow 3rd and Greg Rogers becoming National Champion in 1st place.

In Level 4, Kieran McGowan was 6th and Tom Clementswon a bronze.

Last weekend saw a different group of boys represent the region in the National Team Grade finals in Birmingham. In Club Grade 2, Sam Parton and his team won gold and a silver plate. Robbie Nightingale helped his Level 3 team to 6th. In the Team Performance Grade 1, Dominic Jaunzens team achieved bronze. With the whole weekend competitions added together, this meant that the East Region maintained the overall National Trophy for Men’s Grades.

Instead of travelling to Birmingham Marriotts younger boys stayed at home and competed in Level 7 voluntary floor and vault with Michael Ridgway taking gold, Sam Tonge silver and James Wainwright bronze. Nicholas Sypula, recovering from a recent broken arm, managed a 3rd place on the floor.
