Young Newham cyclists have been urged to take part in Sky Ride 2012, a series of free community bike rides.
The borough’s primary and secondary schools can also show off their creativity to win prizes including the chance to cycle with BMX Champion Shanaze Reade.
To enter the competition pupils can simply create an inspirational message of support for British cycling stars, using photos and video.
A free multi-media resource kit is available for teachers so that all schools in East London can take part.
Sky Ride local rides are free small group bike rides that explore the area and are led by British Cycling trained leaders.
