We know what’s at stake says Smith

Romford Raiders head to Cardiff tomorrow looking for revenge and another two points towards the ENL Division One title.

Last weekend’s home match with the Isle of Wight was postponed due to licensing issues at Rom Valley Way and will now be played on April 1.

And forward AJ Smith says the break has given the players time to focus.

He said: “The boys are seriously pumped for Cardiff. We couldnt get on the ice for a whole week due to the rink problems that were completely beyond our control so we’ve trained extremely hard this week to make up for that.

“It’s a game we cannot afford to lose. We must win our last three matches to win the league but lost at Cardiff last month and that’s still very fresh in the boys heads.

“We owe them. It’s a very tough place to go, they’re a young, quick and physical team.

“I know we will win though, not only because we are the better team but because we cannot afford to lose and the lads know how much is at stake.”

Raiders will be without the suspended Andrius Kaminskas, but Smith added: “It’s a big loss but the boys will band together and pull through.

“With the last game now at home we have the opportinity to win the league in front of our own supporters who are by far the best in the league!!”
