Pupils impress at Havering finals
Coopers Coborn celebrated a hat-trick of tennis titles at the Havering Schools finals at Cranston Park.
Bradley McDermott and Jack Payne teamed up to take the under-13 doubles title, ahead of fellow Coopers pupils Ben Davis and Tom Lucas-Roast.
Lucas-Roast reached the final of the singles, but had to settle for the runners-up spot after a hard-fought contest.
David Mould took the under-15 singles title ahead of George Gray in another all-Coopers clash.
The match went with serve for the first eight games, before Mould made the breakthrough and clinched a 6-4 win.
The two finalists then teamed up to beat their Campion rivals 6-2 and claim the doubles title.
n Coopers Coborn’s Year 9 cricket team has reached the final of the Essex Cup.
George Daly, Matt Ashby, Alfie Studd and James Brooks have impressed in wins against Westcliff and Mayfield, but the final against Bancrofts has been put back until September due to the recent wet weather.
