The men’s team lost to Sidmouth in the County Trophy competition, despite winning both rinks at Sidmouth, by 65-79, writes Roger Smith.

The winning rinks were I Veitch, J Rolph, A Kury and S Dommett 23-13 and M Eveleigh, A Smith, D Coyne and J Skinner 19-17. In the over-60s men’s league the A team defeated Okehampton A by 43-26.

The winning rinks were S Nevill, R Smith and R Arundell 26-14 and E Cox, M Chipperfield and P Edmonds 17-12. The B team continued their recent good form by defeating Pinces Garden C in a rearranged fixture by 38-18.

The winning rinks were G Skinner, D Conbeer and D Evans 22-13 and E Goodenough, L Ley and Ro Clarke 16-15. They followed this with a win against Belmont B by 40-30. The winning rinks were F Brooks, L Ley and Ro Clarke 20-14 and G Phillips, G Skinner and D Evans 20-16.

The men’s team lost a difficult match against Madeira in the Foxlands Trophy by 34- 56. The winning rink was I Veitch, A Kury, S Dommett and K Lovering 23-14.

The ladies were more successful in their East Devon League match against Madeira winning by 33-29. The winning rink was G Blackmore, L Dommett, L Eveleigh and R Veitch 20-15

In a close mixed match against Crediton, Feniton lost by 77-82. The winning rink was D Phillips, G Perryman, D Evans and P Edmonds 14-7.
