Super Brit cyclist and current Tour de France leader Bradley Wiggins delivered an x-rated tongue lashing to Twitter critics who claim success in the gruelling event is down to doping.
Critics on the micro-blogging site hid behind a cloak of anonymity to make a string of insinuations aimed at cyclists currently taking part in the Tour.
Wiggins blasted the accusations in an interview, after retaining the yellow jersey on stage eight.
“I say they’re just f****** w******. I cannot be doing with people like that.
“It justifies their own bone-idleness because they can’t ever imagine applying themselves to do anything in their lives.
“It’s easy for them to sit under a pseudonym on Twitter and write that sort of s***, rather than get off their a**** in their own lives and apply themselves and work hard at something and achieve something.
“And that’s ultimately it. C****.”
Wiggins’ expletive-laden riposte to the accusations of Twitter trolls subsequently received “100 per cent” backing from bosses at Team Sky.
