The 17 year old from Croyde, will be part of the British team competing in the Swatch girls pro star championships in Hossegor and Seignosse, South West France from today Wednesday to Sunday, June 30th.

Laura, who has two surfing titles and has represented her country all over the world, has been surfing for nine years since moving to North Devon from Bristol.

She said: “I am very excited about hitting the surf off the beautiful beaches in France. Moving to North Devon all those years ago changed the course of my life. The past few years have been an incredible experience for me and, having left school, I am free to start my future as a professional surfer and model competing in the European circuit.”

Laura is being supported in her quest by Ashfords Solicitors, who are sponsoring her.

Garry Mackay, a Partner at Ashfords LLP, said: “We believe it is imperative that businesses like ours support talented individuals from the region. Laura embodies the drive and determination that is necessary for success and we are proud to work with her to achieve her ambitions. We wish her every success in her forthcoming competitions.”
