NORTH Devon Display Gymnastics Club has been pleased to welcome British Gymnastics research manager Seyram Atrubra to their recently opened gymnastics centre at Caddsdown Industrial Park in Bideford.

Miss Atubra visited the club as part of an ongoing consultation project by British Gymnastics to gain feedback from grass roots clubs all over the country. She spent the morning viewing the new facility and in lively discussion with the Bideford coaches. She said: “The North Devon Display Gymnastics Club is a great example of a club offering a varied progamme of gymnastics activities promoting fun, enjoyment, flexibility and, most of all, a friendly atmosphere.”

A club spokesperson said the visit had been exciting for everyone, considering that they were a considerable distance from the hub of British Gymnastics at the Lilleshaw National Sports Centre in Shropshire.

The club’s gymnasts are also hoping that more people will vote for them in the Lloyds Bank Community Award scheme, with an award of £5,000 at stake, which could go towards additional specialised equipment.

Supporters can do so by logging on to https://www.lloydsbankinggroupcommunities.com/communityfund/cf_home.asap

Or by texting VOTE with the SMS code of EX1 to 61119. Voting closes the first week in September.

Anyone interested in trying gymnastics can do so by ringing Joy on 07765 248461 or by emailing nddgymclub@yahoo.co.uk

Classes are available for all age groups, male and female, including adults.
