QPR transfer news: Moroccan says arrival of Leonardo derailed move to Ligue 1

QPR midfielder Adel Taarabt says the arrival of Leonardo as director of football at PSG scuppered any potential move to the big spending Ligue 1 club.

The Moroccan midfielder was heavily linked with a move away from Loftus Road, with rumours of a bid upwards of £10million accepted by the Londoners.

However Taarabt remained at QPR and admits the speculation regarding his future had an impact on his early season form.

“I was hurt early in the season because my head was in Paris. With Paris it was done. I was already in Paris where I met the Qataris. But the arrival of Leonardo blocked things,” Taarabt told The Mirror.

Taarabt scored his first Premier League goal of the season in QPR’s 2-0 win over Arsenal on Saturday.
