The R’s boss hailed Adel Taarabt
QPR manager Mark Hughes was delighted with Adel Taarabt’s contribution on the pitch against Tottenham, up until his sending off with 12 minutes to go.
The Moroccan scored the only goal of the game in the first half to give the west Londoners another home success as they look to keep their Premier League place.
“(It was) a great goal from Adel and he showed his ability once again. I thought as a performance he was really disciplined in his approach to his defensive role.
“He knew it was a key element of what we were tying to do today in terms of tracking the runs of (Kyle) Walker and he did it really well, it doesn’t come naturally to him but he did it.
“Losing Adel towards the end of the game made it really difficult in the last 15 or so minutes but they understood what was required,” he said.
“On occasions you ride your luck but I think it would have been a travesty if we hadn’t got anything out of that game.
“It (the sending off) is disappointing because we have had too many this year but I’m not going to dwell on that.
“I’m more pleased with the performance and the three points - other people can make a judgement on whether it was a bit harsh but I’m not going to let that cloud what has been a great evening for us.”
