QPR manager Mark Hughes has not spoken to Joey Barton after the midfielder lost his head against Manchester City today.

The Rangers captain was dismissed for an elbow on Carlos Tevez and flew into a rage after the dismissal, clashing with multiple City players.

“I’ve not spoken to Joey yet,” Hughes told Sky Sports

“Let’s not try to focus on that because that was the one negative today.”

QPR survived thanks to Bolton failing to win at Stoke and Hughes is targeting a more relaxing climax to next season.

“There’s no way we’ll be in this situation again while I’m in charge,” he added.

“This club is going to be a lot stronger this season.”
