Nedum Onuoha has urged QPR not to show Tottenham too much respect when they meet at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
The 25-year-old is confident that Mark Hughes’ side can build on their encouraging 0-0 draw with rivals Chelsea last Saturday and get their first win of the season at Spurs.
The defender told QPR’s official website: “If we do the right things, we have got every chance of getting a good result.
“Tottenham are obviously a very good side and a big side, but it’s 11 v 11. It’s another chance for us to try to get three points.”
“You should go in and respect your opponents but never go any further than that.
“If you give them too much respect and just stand off them, that’s when you can see how good a team they are.”
Onuoha believes QPR must make life difficult for Andre Villas-Boas’s side, as they did against Chelsea.
“For as much as Chelsea didn’t have the best of days against us, that was partially down to us making it difficult for them,” he said.
“And that’s the minimum requirement going into the game at Spurs, otherwise the players they have will just destroy you.”
