QPR supremo Tony Fernandes revealed that there will be a big announcement concerning the club today.

Rangers secured survival after Bolton failed to win at Stoke, making Manchester City’s late winner irrelevant as far as survival was concerned.

With Premier League football to be played at Loftus Road next season the Malaysian is excited about the future.

“We make a big announcement and it’s very important for me,” he told the BBC.

“It’s all about what I’ve talked about anyway. We’ll build this club and give them something to be proud of.

“We’ve got a good manager, good coaching staff and slowly in time, step by step.

The Caterham F1 boss was delighted with the way his side played at City and admitted there were times when he thought Rangers would be plying their trade in the Championship come August.

“There’ve been so many times where that nail has been in the coffin,” he added.

“We lost a little bit of concentration when the Stoke game went. They played like Lions today.”
