Steve Evans will not pursue his interest in Jack Midson

Rotherham United manager Steve Evans has admitted that the club are set to end their interest in AFC Wimbledon star Jack Midson.

The Millers had a bid for the striker turned down on Wednesday and Evans says the Dons’ valuation was higher than what he was prepared to offer.

“Jack is a good striker and he has always been a thorn in our sides when he’s played against us,” Evans told the Rotherham official site.

“I spoke to Terry Brown, who spoke to his Chairman, and as he always does with me whether it is Crawley or Rotherham he refuses our offer.

“Terry came back to me and said that they wanted a certain figure, and to be fair I think the deal is now dead.

“The figure they have indicated they would be willing to sell Midson for is beyond where I would value him.”
