Captain frustrated after Connacht reverse

Harlequins captain, Chris Robshaw, expressed his disappointment following his side’s 9-8 Heineken Cup defeat to Connacht in Galway last night which puts doubts on their progression to the quarter-finals.
An early Sam Smith try provided the hosts with the dream start but unfortunately for them that was where it stopped as Nick Evans was able only to extend his team’s lead by three points with a 60-minute penalty.
But it was not enough to overcome the Irish underdogs who came away with their first victory since 23rd September thanks to three Niall O’Connor penalties.
Just four points down at the beginning of the second half, the visitors remained positive as they looked for a comeback.
“Playing into the wind, you always have to play a bit more with the ball and to only go down by four points at half-time, it was kind of ideal so to speak,” said Robshaw.
“We came out buzzing, got our feet on the ground, got a bit of momentum going but unfortunately we couldn’t finish it off. It’s hard to put into words how disappointed we are, it’s a very low point.
“We’re going to have to hope that someone else slips up along the line. It probably doesn’t look like we’ll qualify.
“No-one was complacent. We wanted to be in the knockout stages. We didn’t just want to be there to make up the numbers - we came in here to give it a real go.”
