Defeat leaves Barking rooted to bottom of National One

Barking head coach Tim Usasz feels Saturday’s showing at Gale Street in their 48-12 defeat at the hands of Macclesfield was one of the worst.
And the Goresbrook chief admitted it was especially disappointing considering their effort last weekend in the 26-17 loss at Tynedale.
“I feel we have taken one step forward and two steps back with that performance,” he said.
“The most disappointing thing is that we worked on defence and being efficient at the breakdown, but on Saturday we just didn’t perform.
“It is difficult when you don’t have the ball for 70-80 per cent of the time. But in saying that Macclesfield were very efficient in what they did.
“They are probably the best drilled side I have seen since I have taken the job but we didn’t do ourselves any favours.
“We conceded twice early on, but we showed we can play because we put together a 15-20 phase move in the build up to our try. But we just don’t get enough of the ball and always seem to be on the back foot.
“It is much harder to take as well, bearing in mind we were coming in off the good performance at Tynedale where we should have got something, and then we go to that performance, which was one of the worst.”
