We’re giving away a family ticket for London Skolars’ home clash with South Wales Scorpions at New River Stadium in Tottenham on Sunday May 13.

London Skolars are back in action this weekend, and are preparing for two crucial league clashes as they eye the top four promotion spots.

Skolars, who currently sit seventh in Co-Operative Championship One, travel to Cumbria on Sunday to face Whitehaven, who sit immediately above them in the table.

Joe Mbu’s side will then host the ninth-placed South Wales Scorpions at New River Stadium on White Hart Lane in Tottenham the following Sunday, May 13 – having already beaten their opponents this year in the Northern Rail Cup.

Head coach Mbu is satisfied with the progress the squad has made so far this season, but he believes there is more to come from his new-look side.

“We’ve strengthened the squad over the winter and there is a new belief that we can challenge for the top places in the league this season,” he said. “On our day we can beat anyone, especially here at New River.

“There is much more depth in the squad, which is giving me a few headaches over selection every week.

“But that’s a good thing for the club and makes all the players work even harder in training and in matches, to get into the team and keep their place.”

Speaking of the upcoming games over the next fortnight, Mbu said: “We have had some tricky away ties so far this

season, and Whitehaven will be another long journey to play against a difficult side.

“South Wales are a strong side too, and they gave us a good game at their place in the cup earlier in the season.

“The lads know that we will have to work very hard to get anything from these games, and it’s up to them to play well to help us push on from where we’re at now.”
