Reading’s Danny Guthrie has warned Tottenham that the Royals are desperate to get their first win of the season when they face Andre Villas-Boas’ side at the Madejski Stadium on Sunday.

Spurs are also looking for their first three points of the season but Guthrie insists Reading have no fear.

“We gave a great account of ourselves at Chelsea and, from day one, we’ve said it doesn’t matter who we are playing, we want to win the game,” Guthrie – a summer signing from Newcastle – told the Reading Chronicle.

“We tried doing that at Stamford Bridge and we’ll be trying again on Sunday.

“We’re at home, it’s our first game on the telly and I’m sure it will be a great occasion for everyone involved.”
