Transfer news: Paul Miller supports Spurs’ tough stance on unsettled midfielder Luka Modric
Paul Miller has labelled Tottenham’s Luka Modric “very unprofessional” for refusing to join his teammates on their pre-season USA tour, and backed Spurs’ stance over the wantaway Croatian.
Modric, who has been strongly linked with Real Madrid and Man Utd this summer, has been fined two weeks’ wages for his show of dissent, and now former Spurs defender Miller has leapt to his old club’s defence.
“It is very unprofessional - he is still getting highly paid every week,” Miller told talkSPORT.
“With Luka, it’s highly publicised Tottenham want thirty-odd million. If someone pays it, then great, he can go. If not, then he stays. It’s as simple as that.”
