Tottenham transfer news: Mate Bilic says Luka Modric is set for a move to La Liga
Former Croatia striker Mate Bilic says countryman Luka Modric is set to quite Spurs and join a Spanish side.
The 26-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from White Hart Lane, with Manchester United and Barcelona said to be interested.
Modric is currently on international duty for Croatia at Euro 2012 and Bilic ins convinced that the midfielder’s future is in La Liga.
“I’m very good friends with Modric,” said Bilic, who plays in Spain for Sporting Gijon. “He wants to play in the Spanish league. He loves the Premier League but he wants to play in Spain. He’s very close to agreeing a move.”
